This site is for you!

d-Ability.org is designed as a place to explore life’s possibilities following a disabling injury or illness. We do this by giving you direct links to the websites of people and organisations from across the world, people with a multitude of backgrounds and abilities.

You will be able to find links here to anything from mouth painting to mountain biking, fashion to wheelchair football, travel in Thailand to ten-pin bowling. Use these links to find out more about your own abilities and potential from others who have created opportunities for themselves following injury or illness.

Whatever your lifestyle and interests, we hope you will find something that offers you new ideas or more quickly reconnects you with the things you love doing.

Where to start? To get a quick idea of the variety of links in the site we suggest checking out the new ‘HOT LINKS’ section. You can also subscribe to receive a monthly update on what’s new. Otherwise, choose from the options above and begin exploring a world of inspiring people and ideas...

Please submit new websites!

LIFE WITH TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY - A RESOURCE FOR SURVIVORS website
As you know, life after a TBI is very different than before. I also know; I sustained one in a car accident in 1979. Since then, I have worked extremely hard to make my life better, and more productive. My goal still remains, to raise awareness of this silent epidemic, and to share my book with those who can benefit from it.
Thank you!
Daniel Windheim

QUADRIPLEGIC 'SIP AND PUFF' SAILOR website
Proving not only that sailing is a fully accessible sport for wheelchair users of all abilities, quadriplegic sailor Hilary Lister will be embarking on a solo circumnavigation of the UK in her specially outfitted yacht controlled entirely by her breath using sip and puff technology (and a fair bit of that famous upper lip).
Hilary has been a quadriplegic for the last 7 years thanks to a progressive degenerative disease called reflex sympathetic dystrophy and has no movement below her neck, but shes already set sailing records. She became the first quadriplegic sailor to cross the English Channel to France in 2005, and then last year she completed a solo circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight.

EUREKA FREEDOM WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE TENT website
Spring is here and as the days get warmer so the need to go out and sleep in a field gets stronger, at least for some. Camping is the holy grail of wheelchair adventures, getting out and traveling wherever you want, pitching a tent and sleeping wherever you want to. Sure you can pack light and spend your nights crammed into a tiny single pole affair with barely enough room to do anything. But if you dont mind extra wieght, or have that team of sherpas to carry things for you, then the Freedom tent from Eureka is perfect for the wheelchair camper looking to do things with a little more style, and comfort.
